The light'ning catches the night

like a photograph

suddenly the darkness and shadows

have form and depth

but only for an instance

only as long

as the light floods through

the cracks in the sky

sometimes there's a light

that breaks through my worries

a frozen instance

that makes the darkness disappear

a chance to see

everything clearly

and I realize

the doubts, the fears

these are just shadows

and the thunder that follows

does not frighten me

for I have seen through

the cracks in the sky
